Welcome to the Zoo

My creative ideas grow rather than dreaming up the finished article from the off. The zoo was really instigated by my one and a half year old daughter and her love for animals. The Burhnam house nursing home had been unused for 7 years but early in 2014 it was announced that it would be knocked down in July. As a 30 something old graffiti artist married with child, dogs and a mortgage getting arrested is not high on my priority list.

The project grew and grew, BBC Radio, Web and TV and also the Sunday Mirror and local press. Boooom.

The Trex came first, complete with rope for photo opportunities. This was in an area hidden away somewhat, he lay undiscovered for two months

The elephant took the longest to paint, he has a 40ft trunk and is 18ft tall, he hold the entrance to the zoo welcome sign

Sharing the headlines in the West with some bloke called 'Banksy'?

Ever get afraid of getting pigeon holed as an artist? Well be afraid.

The giraffe peeps over the gate of the zoo as you enter, 20ft high, painted pre the Virginia creeper leafing up giving him a nice snack
